FFA Museum Altenrhein
The new jewel in the cultural crown of East Switzerland and Lake Constance is the museum located at St. Gallen airport in Altenrhein. Housing an unrivalled collection of planes and motor vehicles, the museum has a character all its own - visitors will be astounded!
The museum’s hands-on approach means that exhibits can be experienced “up close and personal”. Take a trip in a historical Rolls-Royce, a racing car from the 1970s or even as a passenger in a biplane, a PC7 or a military jet. This is a place where dreams really do come true.
100 years of history
The letters FFA stand for Fliegermuseum / Fahrzeugmuseum Altenrhein (Altenrhein aviation and transport museum). The museum is located right on the Swiss shores of Lake Constance where, shortly after the First World War, Claude Dornier paved the way for the airfield and all the subsequent events. The history of the last 100 years is the stuff of legends, a fact adequately borne out by the sheer variety of exhibits to be found in the museum.
The FFA Museum – every visit an adventure
The FFA Museum successfully bridges the past and present, featuring vehicles from the 1930s alongside more recent sports and racing cars. One truly unique aspect of this museum is the chance to ride/fly in some of those exhibits which are still functional. It is possible to book an exciting guided tour with enthusiasts and friends of the museum – starting with an aperitif, and ending with a stylish afternoon tea. A visit is a very special experience – prepare to be amazed!
