To access the viewing platform, situated directly above the river, visitors have to negotiate quite a few steps. From a boat the huge wall of water is even more impressive. As well as round trips and ferry crossings, tours to the so-called “Rock” are on offer: a steep-sided crag towering out of the water, which can also be climbed by the intrepid.

The Rhine Falls are especially impressive in the evening, when the river and its surroundings are bathed in an amazing light. The trip makes a perfect family outing.
